One of the houses in our neighborhood had a fire a few months ago. The house was gutted by the fire and had to rebuilt from the inside. I was out on one of my walks and happened by and thought it was an interesting image. If you look at it looks like i have removed the roof with photoshop with how cleanly it has been removed and the angle I am taking the shots at. However that isn’t the case, they were just in the process of rebuilding the roof and lifting the eves back up with a crane.
Happy with most of these, of course they could always be better and they will be at the next air show. Learned a lot shooting this time. Most of these were done with the Sony 70-400 lens on my a6300. Going to look at some of the other long lenses for my camera. I had to use the e to a mount adapter from Sony. All of it worked well there are some limitations, although those limitations could have been my own inexperience shooting planes in motion. Will know more the next time I shoot at an air show.
I did the early morning pass for the airshow again this year and I am finally getting through my shots. I took way too many of them and way too many duplicates, it has taken a few weeks since I don’t just have unlimited time to edit shots. Here are a few of the shots from the planes on the ground during the early morning shoot.
Some other shots while touring around New Orleans and enjoying ourselves. We did a swamp/bayou tour and saw some alligators. As we walked around we saw other things that we thought were cool.
We went recently on a trip to New Orleans for vacation. We took some tours while we were there one of them was to cemeteries. These are some of the pictures that I took while I was there. Really some of the work that is there is so fascinating and wonderful. Different shots at some different angles. Unfortunately it was bright as heck out and I was just trying to get some decent shots to remember the time we were there. A little bit of stardom in is Nicholas Cage’s future grave site or is it where he is hiding his money to keep it from the IRS. The tour guide wasn’t really sure so we spent some of the time guessing.
My son is taking Tennis lessons and having a good time. I decided to try and test my iPhone taking some actions shots at night. Not horrible shots, considering the lack of light and all of the motion. At the end of the day I am glad I got the shot, but a little bit of light or a camera with higher ISO would have been a better option.
With all the rains haven’t made it out as much as I would like to. Just some B&W shots from my front yard, while messing around.
During Christmas we spent a day up in Big Bear playing in the snow at our in laws. We had a good time, had a snowball fight, and built a snowman. The dogs took out the child and made him their snow carpet. It was really cold and there was a heck of a lot of snow up there. Driving up was an interesting endeavor with all of the people that had no idea how to actually drive their cars. The Subaru Outback handled going up and down the mountain like a champ. Really enjoy driving that car up and down.
During the holidays I got a new target for our backyard, due to some mishaps with Amazon I ended up getting two. So I decided to modify my target stand to put a supporting beam in the middle and then hang both of the targets one front and one back so that I could shoot on either in my backyard. So this completes my 20 yard archery stand, luckily I live in an area where I can have a clear line of shot in case something goes horribly wrong.
As a family one of our Christmas traditions is to go Disneyland, this year is no different. We tried to choose a day that was hopefully going to have fewer people going, however we managed to choose really badly and by about noon all of the fast passes were out for most of the major rides. We did get to hit our usual holiday favorites and also added another one in the Jingle Cruise. It was a fun day and we had a good time just as a family going out and doing things.
